Student Practicum
Life’s Journey welcomes the opportunity to host students. Practicum sites include Winnipeg, Brandon, and Steinbach. Learning opportunities include:
- Indigenous ways of knowing & ceremony
- Case load management
- Care plan & protocol development
- Intake
- Liaising with community resources & clinicians
- Assessment
- Exposure to community outreach, shift staffed homes, home-share placements, and cluster housing
- Supporting the drop-in and programming (addictions, wellness)
- Trainings as available
All practicums are unpaid and require clear criminal record (vulnerable sector), adult abuse, and child abuse registry checks. It is encouraged that students have a class 5 driver’s license, providing a copy of that, and their driver’s abstract. Select locations may be willing to host students on-site (no driving requirement). International students must provide related paperwork.
Please contact practicumcommittee@lifesjourneyinc.ca with your inquiry and include the school’s liaison on the correspondence. Thank you and happy learning!
This application is specifically for students who are currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and require a practicum or placement to meet academic requirements. We encourage individuals seeking employment opportunities to apply through our careers page for open job positions.
