OUR MISSION

To support the pursuit of balance between spiritual, physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being by individuals with neuro-diversities, including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, along with their families and communities.

LIVING WITH HOPE

Life’s Journey Inc. is a non-profit social services agency operating in Winnipeg, Brandon, and Steinbach Manitoba.  We acknowledge that we gather and work on Treaty 1 and 2 land, traditional territories of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Assiniboine, Dakota and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.

We were formed in 2005 as FASD Life’s Journey Inc. to provide supports to adults and youth transitioning from Child Family Services who are impacted by neuro-diversities.  At the time we focused on outreach services for individuals with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), however quickly expanded to also offer housing and fostering resources to meet the needs of a community that had historically received few targeted services.

In listening to our participants, staff, and other stakeholders we recognized that a name so focused on a diagnosis does not accurately reflect the scope of the work we do together and formally changed the name of the agency in 2019 to better represent who we are.  Life’s Journey is proud to offer supports to people with diverse abilities living in Manitoba.

Positioning well-being as a pillar of our supports, we engage in a range of voluntary, wrap-around services that are individualized to meet the needs and goals of each program participant.  We know that cultural care is an absolute right and our comprehensive approach to health includes traditional Indigenous healing as a significant component of our clinical services.

Our appreciation of the gifts and resilience of people facing challenges defines our mission to foster inclusionary spaces that support a balanced path through life.  Our blend of responsive services is built on mentoring relationships to meet each person where they are at.  We strive to provide services that are clinically informed, culturally relevant, wellness oriented, relationship and strengths-based, with environmental adaptations to support each program participant to practice their gifts.

We believe that no one is alone on their path and our collaborative approach to working with program participants is part of our mandate to provide individualized and respectful services that increase connection and well-being.
